Help › Schedule and speakers

Importing the schedule from Google Sheets or Excel

Sessions and speakers come from a sheet. The preview shows the changes before anything is saved.

The schedule is read from the first tab of the sheet. One row is one speaker in one session. If a session has several speakers, each is on their own row with the same date and time.

Columns

  • date (required): e.g. 18.11.2026 or 2026-11-18
  • time (required): e.g. 14.00 or 14:00
  • session: the session title (optional)
  • first name and last name, or name in one column (the last word is the last name)
  • email (required)
  • language: fi or en. The invitation and the speaker page are in this language. Empty means English.

Finnish headers work too (päivä, klo, sessio, etunimi, sukunimi, nimi, sähköposti, kieli). If your headers are something else, map the columns.

Import

  1. Google Sheet: share the sheet with Deckhandoff's service account as a viewer and paste the sheet's address on the Aikataulun tuonti (schedule import) page. Excel: choose the .xlsx or .xls file. It is converted to a Google Sheet that becomes the event's schedule.
  2. Choose Esikatsele muutokset (preview changes). Invalid rows are listed with their row numbers. Fix them in the sheet and preview again.
  3. The preview lists new sessions, moved sessions, title changes, new speakers and changed details. Nothing is saved yet.
  4. Choose Tuo muutokset (import changes). New speakers get an upload link, and Drive folders are created for the days.

You can repeat the import as often as you need. It never removes anything unless you choose so. See Schedule changes.
