Make a large file smaller

Why this matters: The file is accepted. Large files mostly come from long or high-resolution videos and very large images.

PowerPoint for Windows

1. Choose File → Info → Compress Media → Full HD (1080p).
2. Select an image, then Picture Format → Compress Pictures, untick Apply only to this picture and pick 220 ppi or lower.
3. Save and upload again.

PowerPoint for Mac

1. Choose File → Compress Pictures…, pick a lower resolution and apply to all pictures.
2. Convert long videos with HandBrake (see Convert the video to MP4) and insert the smaller file.
3. Save and upload again.

The checks run in your browser before the upload and again on the server. The server's result counts, and you see it on your upload page and in the confirmation email. See also the technical guidelines for your presentation.
