Export a Keynote presentation

Why this matters: The presentation computers at the venue run PowerPoint on Windows and macOS. They cannot open .key files.

Keynote on Mac

1. Open the presentation in Keynote.
2. Choose File → Export To → PowerPoint…
3. Click Next, choose where to save, then Export.
4. Open the exported .pptx and page through it: check fonts, animations and videos.
5. Upload the .pptx.

If the PowerPoint version looks wrong

1. Choose File → Export To → PDF… instead.
2. Upload the PDF. Animations and embedded video don't carry over to a PDF, so upload videos separately as .mp4 files.
3. Note: with a PDF there is no presenter view, so your speaker notes won't show on the confidence monitor.

The checks run in your browser before the upload and again on the server. The server's result counts, and you see it on your upload page and in the confirmation email. See also the technical guidelines for your presentation.
