Why this matters: If a font is not installed on the presentation computer, PowerPoint replaces it with another. Lines can then wrap differently and text can overflow its box. The venue has both Mac and Windows computers.
PowerPoint for Windows
- Choose File → Options → Save.
- Tick Embed fonts in the file and choose Embed all characters.
- Click OK, save the presentation and upload it again.
PowerPoint for Mac
- Choose PowerPoint → Preferences → Save.
- Tick Embed fonts in the file and choose Embed all characters.
- Save the presentation and upload it again.
If a font can't be embedded
- Some fonts don't allow embedding. Change the text to a common font such as Arial, Calibri, Aptos, Georgia or Verdana.
- Or upload a PDF of the presentation as well (File → Export → PDF). The technical team can use it if the text looks wrong.
The checks run in your browser before the upload and again on the server. The server's result counts, and you see it on your upload page and in the confirmation email. See also the technical guidelines for your presentation.
